Stories
At the end of every adventure or when the GM deems it appropriate, you gain a Story - a phrase or sentence that expresses your growing reputation.
When you gain a number of Stories equal to your current level, you level up. Gain the associated bonuses. Attributes increase to a maximum of 18. When you increase an attribute, increase the associated derived stats (such as HP for increasing your Grit).
Arabella Frost was a part of the Company of Five that braved the Hanged Dog Mines and soothed the enraged slag-wurm, saving the nearby village of Muvuk. As they exit the mines, her GM tells her she's gained a Story. She thinks on her actions within the cave and writes "Rescued Honest Tayun from certain death."
That brings her to 6 Stories, enough to level up to level 4. She adds 1 HP and increases her Grit by 1 to a 14. This gives her an additional 1 HP, bringing her total to 17, and allows her to carry 1 more item.
